Are you looking for outstanding fairies and angels and quality giftware? Then look no further ! Fairy Magyk is the place you want!

As a believer in all things magical and mythical I found a lot of enjoyment in my personal fairy collection. I believe that seeing the gorgeous details and intricate work that goes into so many of the paintings and statues, can inspire feelings that makes one wish that fairies were real. Fairies have a way of putting a smile on your face. I get such pleasure looking at the works of fairy artists, and inspiration to do my own sketches and paintings. It brings escapism from the every day bad news that’s plastered in our TV news and papers. Fantasy is a nice place to visit from time to time. Some people like dragons, some people like unicorns. Does it matter what they believe in or hope for if it brings to them a sense of magic in their lives?
.
Fairy Magyk can help bring the magic to you with the fantastic fairy, angel, mermaid and other mystical beings figurines from many talented artists, including; Christine Haworth, Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, Jody Bergsma, Linda Ravenscroft, Nene Thomas, Selina Fenech and Sheila Wolk.

You will also find superbly crafted angels including the Angel Whispers Collection by Christine Haworth and Nemesis Now.
Dragons by Dragonsite and Nemesis Now. Carousels, Snowglobes, Books, Mousemats and also Jewellery (including designs by Peter Stone).

Fairy Magyk has prices that beat the high street’s over inflated prices and offer their customer’s a 100% satisfaction guarantee on their purchase(s). Every single item in Fairy Magyk has been personally selected as if each one is for me personally. I enjoy giving people a little bit of magyk, and knowing they will enjoy their purchases makes me feel good about the fairies I do select to sell.

Fairy Magyk is for you, the customer. And without you, there would be no Fairy Magyk

I thought I’d share my opinions of a very magical film called Stardust.
Since Fairy Magyk sells fairies, angels and other mystical creatures, I thought it would be nice if everytime I saw a film that pertained to anything magical, to share my views with everyone.

Stardust was an absolutely delightful film. The story is pure magic and although most ‘fairy tales’ are for children, Stardust is a film for almost anyone aged 8 and up.

Tristan is the son of Dunstan and the slave of an old witch called Ditchwater Sal who travels about in a caravan. The couple met after Dunstan snuck over ‘The Wall’ that leads to an enchanted land, and there he meets the captured slave and they fall in love instantly. 9 months later Dunstan recieves a knock at the door and is handed a baby boy in a wicker basket. Unfortunately, when Tristan was born, the captive slave was not allowed to keep him and instead sent him to live with his father. She put in his basket a “Babylon candle”, and a letter to Tristan explaining everything.

The story then jumps eighteen years to Tristan as a young man, in love with the prettiest girl (and shallowest) named Victoria in a small English town (Wall Village). Victoria and Dunstan watch a star fall from the sky and Victoria tells Dunstan he has 1 week to bring her the star or she’ll marry another lad who’s been courting her. He is desperate to bring Victoria the fallen star by her birthday. He uses the candle to fly to where the star landed, which is not in England but a magical land called Stormhold. But then he discovers that the star is not what he expected. It is actually a beautiful, immortal and spirited woman named Yvaine. Despite this, Tristan is determined to marry Victoria and uses a silver chain that his father obtained after trying to free the princess to take Yvaine to England, promising to use the last of the magic candle to take her back to the sky afterwards.

However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. Yvaine is in terrible danger because the living sons of the King are looking for her because only the jewel that she carries can secure the throne to one of them. Septimus, one of the princes, later finds out that a star’s heart grants immortality so wants to devour her heart so that he can rule the kingdom forever. Additionally the three witches known as “The Lilim” — Mormo, Empusa and the eldest and the most powerful, Lamia want her because they want to recover their beauty and eternal youth.

As Tristan sets out to protect Yvaine and bring her back to his beloved at the other side of the wall his journey brings incredible encounters with the pirate Captain Shakespeare and a shady trader among others. Yvaine and Tristan fall in love. Yvaine confesses her feelings to Tristan after the witch Ditchwater Sal turns him into a mouse, Yvaine not realizing that he can still understand her.

After being changed back into a human Tristan is too exhausted from his transformation to continue the journey, and the two stop at an inn. Tristan tells Yvaine that he returns her love. While Yvaine sleeps, Tristan cuts a piece of her hair and goes back to England to tell Victoria that he no longer loves her. However when he tries to give Victoria the hair he finds that it has turned into stardust, or rock and he tells Victoria to grow up and then some. He realizes that Yvaine cannot enter England and stay in human form and hurries back to the other side of the wall to find her.

and that..is all you get because I wont spoil the ending.
There is some scenes that would be considered violent by some standards, the use of magic and witch craft and a lot of adventure.

The stars in this film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Peter O’Toole, Charlie Cox, Robert De Niro and Ricky Gervais.

Our girl is back home where she belongs…FINALLY!!

No more doggie prison!

No more of me going to wash down and disinfect her walls and change her blankets to make sure she was dry and comfortable.

It was wonderful to see Casey go into the house wagging her tail as she took in her surroundings. She did exactly as I predicted..made a beeline for the sofa, jumped up onto it and then down as she spotted her sister Clipsey. She ran through the house and one could almost hear a “Wheeeeeeeeeeee I’m home!!”
Suddenly, as fast as she ran into the kitchen, she came to a grinding halt and starting barking and growling.
I was like..what the?? Then I burst out laughing because what Casey was barking at was my mannequin on the worktop. She had never seen it before and thought it was a strange person. It was too funny.

She didn’t even have to be told to come upstairs with Steve and I at bedtime. She ran up the stairs just as she always had and laid on her bed, and in the morning I woke up and there, in our bed sleeping like she always used to do was Casey. She always hopped into our bed when Steve left for work.

I really thought that after 6 long months that Casey would have to be re-taught but I am so happy to say I thought wrong!

And then I had a sad thought, did Casey, whilst in quarantine, have sad memories and hurt inside remembering she used to do that? It really bugs me to think my dog would have felt the lonliness and been homesick remembering what she had.

But thankfully it’s over for Casey now..she’s home where she belongs. God I’ve missed her.

Revealed: a secret parcel hoard
By Patrick Sawer and Miles Erwin
Last Updated: 1:06am GMT 29/10/2007

The Royal Mail was last night accused of hoarding thousands of parcels as a way of masking the real effect of the post strike.

Evidence has been uncovered that parcels and other items of mail which should have been delivered when the strikes came to an end two weeks ago have instead been stored in a warehouse in north London.

Two weeks after the strike ended, temporary staff are struggling to clear thousands of parcels

It is claimed that the parcels were collected from depots around London and the south-east and taken to the warehouse in Barnet. The Royal Mail last night admitted it had opened the warehouse facility in order to cope with the strike.

Royal Mail managers said they have not fully cleared the backlog of 120 million items created by the stoppages and it is thought there are still around 25 million items stuck in the system.

Small businesses have complained that many of their customers have yet to receive goods and orders which they requested before members of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) staged two 48-hour strikes earlier this month.

It has now emerged that some of the parcels and letters caught up in the dispute have been kept at the secret warehouse to await collection and delivery.

advertisementTrevor Angel, owner of Essex jewellery distributor Bubbles Jewels, whose business relies solely on the Royal Mail, said he learned of the warehouse when he tried to trace 156 parcels he had dispatched in early October.

Mr Angel said: “When I asked the Royal Mail about the parcels, I was told by a manager at Southend that an artic lorry had picked up all their parcel post, as well as parcels from the rest of the London area and south-east, and then circled the M25 looking for a warehouse in which to dump them. That’s where they still are.”

Like many other small business owners who rely on the Royal Mail Mr Angel — who estimates he lost £10,000 worth of business because of the strike — fears his most loyal customers will now go elsewhere.

The Sunday Telegraph tracked down the warehouse where Mr Angel’s deliveries have been temporarily stored and found thousands of parcels stacked haphazardly, still awaiting delivery.

Several boxes, despite being labelled “Handle With Care”, were balanced precariously on top of sacks and mail bags. Dozens of temporary workers could be seen struggling to make an impression on the huge mountain of parcels at the anonymous building — the size of a football pitch — housed on an industrial estate.

Some of the backlog is the result of wildcat strikes by Royal Mail workers in east London following the official end of the dispute on October 12.

Unofficial stoppages in east and central London, Glasgow, Merseyside and Lancashire created a further headache for managers.

The Royal Mail denied the parcels were being deliberately hoarded, but admitted some of the backlog created by the strike had yet to be delivered.

A spokesman said: “The backlog in the Barnet warehouse was a result of the unofficial strikes in east London and has been largely cleared.

The backlog from the national strikes has also largely been cleared. We are doing all we can to clear it.

“We always set up temporary facilities in this period, but the Barnet one came into operation earlier because of the strike.”

Some postal workers have complained that the backlog could have been cleared faster had the Royal Mail been willing to pay overtime, but the company said it refused to effectively reward strikers for causing the delays.

The deal that ended the dispute included a backdated lump sum of £175, a 2.5 per cent rise for the rest of this financial year and 4.2 per cent for next year.

Postwatch said it had been assured the backlog was “manageable”, but a spokesman for the watchdog added: “The Royal Mail told us last week the backlog had come down to around 25 million. There will be isolated incidents of mail taking longer to be delivered.

“It is a tense situation at the moment, with strikers working alongside non-strikers and the peace deal still having to be ratified by the CWU membership.”

The strikes are estimated to have cost the London economy alone more than £300 million. A survey for the British Chambers of Commerce found that more than half the small companies surveyed were now more likely to use alternative services to reduce the risk of further disruption.

Matthew Knowles, a spokesman for the Federation of Small Businesses, said 94 per cent of small companies rely on the Royal Mail to deliver their goods and receive payment. Some firms have gone without any cash flow for weeks as cheques languished in the backlog, he said, adding: “It would have cost millions of pounds. I’m sure some have gone under. It would have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

Small Business owner Trevor Angel was stunned to discover the parcels he had carefully sent to customers were piling up in a north London warehouse.

He realised his business was going to suffer as a result of the postal dispute as soon as dozens of customers began calling to complain that their orders had yet to arrive.

Two weeks after the dispute was settled, many are still waiting for the items they had ordered from his online company Bubble Jewels.

Mr Angel, 52, is completely reliant on the Royal Mail, having set up his firm five years ago to import designer jewellery from Denmark and sell it via his website.

When the official strikes came to an end on October 12, he dispatched 156 parcels to customers across Britain, having held on to the orders until the end of the dispute.

But Mr Angel (above) learned that instead of being delivered, they had been taken to the warehouse in Barnet, where they were still languishing last night. He now fears that other small firms may have suffered a similar fate.

When his customers complained to the Royal Mail it referred them back to Mr Angel, saying that since the dispute was over they ought to seek compensation from him.

Mr Angel said: “I tell my customers Royal Mail has still got packages from the strike, but because they’re getting mail through the door again they don’t believe me. That kind of information is totally misleading for the customer and is very damaging to my company’s credibility.”

He estimates the dispute has cost him about £10,000 and hit customer loyalty. The former driving instructor, from Shoeburyness, Essex, said: “We rely totally on Royal Mail. They messed up big time and an apology would be nice. But as it is, the posties go on strike and I have to pay for it.”

The only day the collection staff are participating in strikes is 03:00 Tuesday 16th October until 03:00 Wednesday 17th October. Royal Mail Group has put in place additional resource and contingencies that should prevent a notable disruption to collections.

No items will be delivered on Tuesday the 16th October. Regular postal delivery should occur on all other days during week commencing 15th October.

Members who are trading around the time of the strike should bear in mind that payments and items being sent by post are likely to be delayed. If you think that the payment or item you are sending will be affected by the strike, it is advisable to inform the person you are trading with. If you are waiting for payment or delivery of an item, please be patient.

Further information on how postal services will be disrupted is available via the Royal Mail website

Postal workers are set to launch their next series of UK-wide strikes, which it is feared could disrupt deliveries into the middle of next week.
Taken from the BBC News site:

The Royal Mail is holding last minute talks with the Communication Workers Union (CWU), but without a breakthrough a 48-hour walkout will start from noon.

A second two-day strike by the 130,000 CWU members is timetabled to begin from 0300 BST on Monday, 8 October.

The industrial action is over pay and union fears of job cuts.

It is hugely disappointing to watch a great British institution tear itself apart

Millie Banerjee, Postwatch

At the centre of the dispute is the CWU’s objection to the Royal Mail’s 2.5% pay offer and modernisation plans which it says will put about 40,000 jobs at risk.

Royal Mail says that, without dramatic reform, it will not be able to survive in a liberalised mail market.

It is concerned that the strike will lead to a further loss of business and add to its financial losses.

“We continue to urge the CWU to work with us to modernise the business and to help secure a successful future for the company and its people in the competitive market in which we now operate,” Royal Mail said.

‘Proportionate response’

After Monday’s strike, the CWU says it will then stage a programme of rolling strikes each Monday until the dispute is resolved.

The union’s deputy general secretary, Dave Ward, said the strikes were “a proportionate response to an employer that is completely out of control”.

“Despite five weeks of negotiations, Royal Mail have failed to take on board the union’s message that, in order for the business to succeed, Royal Mail need to invest in their workforce,” he added.

We would ask our customers to avoid posting mail during the strikes and, if they do so, then to post any mail at Post Office branches

Royal Mail

Royal Mail has decided to start imposing changes on workers’ conditions without union agreement from next week.

The firm is asking the public not to post letters to stop log jams building up in the system.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We will do all we can to mitigate the impact of the strike action.

“But we would ask our customers to avoid posting mail during the strikes and, if they do so, then to post any mail at Post Office branches, which will all be open for business as usual.”

He added: “Royal Mail has consistently sought a resolution to this dispute and we have been in talks with the CWU since last March.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience that CWU strike action causes.”

Damage

Millie Banerjee, chairwoman of the consumer watchdog Postwatch, said that “effectively these strikes mean that mail posted in the UK today is unlikely to be delivered before Thursday next week”.

“It is hugely disappointing to watch a great British institution tear itself apart,” she said.

David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, told the BBC that the strike could not have come at a worse time for UK firms fearful of a possible global economic slowdown.

He added that the industrial action would also inevitably damage the postal service.

“This will hasten the demise of the Royal Mail,” he said.

——————————————————————————–

Update for Fairy Magyk Customers regarding Royal Mail Strike
This is from the Royal Mail Site:

The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has announced further strike action. Two 48-hour strikes are planned. The first will begin at lunchtime on Thursday 4th October and ends at lunchtime on Saturday 6th October. The second will begin in the early hours of Monday 8th October, ending in the early hours of Wednesday 10th October.

This will be followed by an unspecified programme of weekly strikes, starting week commencing October 15th, until the resolution of the dispute.

During the strikes, Royal Mail’s priorities will be:

Keep mail flowing, by keeping as many sorting machines and vehicles as possible operating, and processing as much mail as possible through our system
Protect vulnerable members of society, who depend on Post Office payments of pensions and social security
Manage the needs of our large customers with bulk mailings – helping them post around disruption as best they can
Ensure that all customers can continue to post mail through the Post Office network
Prioritise Special Delivery services, although all guarantees will be suspended
What does it mean for our customers?

This action will severely limit our ability to provide any services for the coming period. Customers should expect severe disruption to all postal services during the strikes and for a significant period afterwards.

Special Delivery will continue to be a priority throughout the period of disruption. We have well developed contingency plans, and will do all we can to deliver Special Delivery items on the due day. However, money-back guarantees will be suspended for items posted on 4th October onwards and will be reinstated as soon as we are sure we can fulfill the service promise
Door to Door – We will not be able to maintain a Door to Door service. Royal Mail is therefore applying Force Majeure for all Door to Door contracts scheduled for delivery during the weeks commencing October 8th, October 15th and October 22nd 2007. Please see the section below for more details
Redirection, Keepsafe and Diversion – Our advertised standard for setting up these services is likely to be affected by the industrial action, and so our customers should expect delays
Redelivery will be suspended during the initial industrial action and will be reinstated as soon as we are sure we can fulfill the service promise. Customers collecting items should be aware that enquiry office opening times may vary from normal, and some may be closed on strike days
Access mail – We will not give access mail special priority during strikes and period of recovery. We will deal with mail in the order we receive it, regardless of whether it has come directly from our customers, or from a supplier of Downstream Access.

Fairy Magyk will be offering courier service to those who ask for it. Other purchases made marked with FREE post to (MAINLAND) UK will have no problems recieving their purchases.
I’ll keep everyone updated regarding this strike.
PLEASE do not hold your sellers responsible if your item takes a while to reach you. They like myself, are doing the best they can to get your parcels to you on time. The length of time Royal Mail gets the post to you is out of our hands.
Thank you for your continuing patience through these times.

We have 3 pets, 1 dog and 2 cats. Today, I’ll tell you a little about one of our cats, Clipsey.
Clipsey is black and white and a very ‘quiet’ cat.
Today, my husband and I were working on our computers and he shouts out to me, “What’s this Clipsey has?”
I knew by the laughter in his voice that she had brought into the house a little gift for us.
I got up and looked over to where Clipsey had put a wee little vole near Steve’s feet and sat looking at him.
“Steve” I said, “Clipsey’s showing you she loves you!”
I’m used to her bringing me little mice and birds and usually distract her from watching me as I proceed to remove her little presents from the house.
I think she grew impatient because Steve didn’t do anything with his new gift from Clipsey so she took the little vole onto the kitchen floor and gently played with him some more.

After a few minutes, she brought the vole to me and I thanked her for her lovely ( ewww ) gift and gave her a gentle stroke whilst muttering under my breath, “bad kitty, you shouldn’t do things to other creatures, blah blah”
I like the voles, and I think little mice are cute too. I feel sorry for them that they so easily fall prey to cats, but that’s life after all.
In her little cat mind she has no idea that she’s done anything that is wrong, she just wanted to give us a present to show her affection.
Why can’t she find us a wad of 20′s and drop them at our feet instead?

Can you believe there are still some people unaware that there are postal disruptions because of the strike?

We’re smack dab in the middle of a majour disruption to postal services by striking workers. Right now, there’s currently a two week period of strike action taking place, with different departments of the postal service affected on different days.

This not only affects the actual days that the strikes are carried out, but it also seems to be creating a massive backlog of parcels in many areas. More and more people are complaining of slow delivery, items not being received etc.

If you’re an eBay shopper or an Internet shopper, please, please please be patient when buying items, and trust that your sellers are doing their absolute best to get your parcels to you.

Remember, sellers hands are tied because of these postal disruptions.

This (insert your adjective here) mail situation is completely beyond your seller’s control, and so very many people are experiencing delays.
